Every year, my birthday falls on Thanksgiving weekend. It also happens to be within 3 days of my father's and my mother's birthdays (Happy birthday parents!)

I never used to like sharing my day- although now that I have matured a little bit I don't mind so much. It's a reason for the whole family to get together and celebrate. AND this year I got a national holiday.

With the summer heat, my love of ice cream appears to be taking a turn for the obsessed. It's the one amazing thing about living in the city. Everywhere I turn there is a new artisan Gelato or Ice Cream shop that I just HAVE to try.

At home however, my ice cream creations are finding themselves onto popsicle sticks. You can have way more interesting flavour combinations than the standard chocolate and vanilla. The other bonus is you can totally use store bought ice cream too if you don't want to make your own. Ah-Mazing.

I started taking culinary classes this summer to work towards a certificate in Culinary Arts from George Brown. Obviously because I don't think about food enough. Apparently my entire world needs to revolve around it in some way, shape or form.

I have met a lot of interesting people with different backgrounds and the chef is fantastic. If I could handle the pressure, I would definitely be a chef. Although- if someone were to yell at me in a restaurant kitchen I would probably break into tears. I don't think I have the gumption for that line of work.

I love things on a stick- somehow it makes them just that much cuter. And it's portion control. Enough said.

Natrel has a few varieties of flavoured milk that they have come out with including Dark Chocolate, Chocolate and Maple (Yea I know, maple milk?). The Maple Milk definitely transfered me back to my childhood of mixing maple syrup with my milk (I think I overdosed as a child- Truely Canadian).
